Important information: Organisational measures for the Platinum Tour (duration)
The new 300 km route is intended for well-trained cyclists. The specified target time of 12 hours and 15 minutes at an average speed of 24 km/h is intended to ensure that cyclists can complete the route within the checkpoint opening hours (12 hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to lighting conditions) and therefore represents the minimum speed limit. You should be able to ride at an average speed of at least 25 km/h over a long period of time and not have to take too long breaks.
To ensure that the time for the Platinum Tour is sufficient for trained cyclists, we suggest the following options for interested Platinum participants:
- Pick up your starting documents the day before so that you can get started right away on the day of the event.
- Start possible from 6:30 a.m. using front and rear lights.
- Priority for Platinum riders at stamp stations (and generally more efficient organisation of stamping on our part).
- If it is foreseeable that you will not make it back to the starting point in time: report this at the last checkpoint and we will see what we can do.
The starting points will be fully staffed until 7 p.m. and will remain open for a while afterwards for tidying up. The helpers on site have been instructed to hand out medals even after 7 p.m. If no one is there anymore, please send a photo of your start card with all remaining stamps by email to the secretariat, and the medal will be sent to you.
We hope that these measures will enable all trained cyclists to enjoy a successful Platinum Tour!
Gold and Silver tours
The Gold and Silver tours include a ferry trip from Staad (near Konstanz) to Meersburg for both rider and their bicycle
(ferry ticket is on the Starting Card).
The Bronze Tour
The Bronze Tour around the lower part of the lake follows the same path as the Gold Tour,
except at Allensbach where it turns via Konstanz back towards Tägerwilen.
The routes are marked with orange and yellow signs / billboards and are completely paved with asphalt.
Standard road cycling rules apply. The routes are not closed to normal road traffic. Helmets are mandatory.
